href=\"https:\/\/eur-lex.europa.eu\/legal-content\/EN\/TXT\/HTML\/?uri=CELEX:32011R0305\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">EU Construction Product Regulation<\/a><\/strong> has been the primary set of rules for construction products in the European Union since it came into force in 2013. It replaced the previous Construction Product Directive from 1989, and it is meant to provide for harmonized safety and quality standards to facilitate the free circulation of goods within the EU. In November 2024, an <a href=\"https:\/\/eur-lex.europa.eu\/legal-content\/EN\/TXT\/HTML\/?uri=OJ:L_202403110\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>amendment of the Construction Product Regulation<\/strong><\/a> was approved. It provides for binding requirements for construction products to be put on the market in the EU, and ensures that these products may be used anywhere in the EU without hindrance by national regulations. <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-234b5c4 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"234b5c4\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h4 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">What are construction products?<\/h4>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-19fb6b4 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"19fb6b4\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Construction products are <strong>products that are permanently incorporated in construction works<\/strong> and the performance of which affects at least one of the basic requirements for construction works. Construction Product Regulation refers to seven basic requirements for construction works that can be affected by construction products:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Mechanical<\/strong><strong> resistance and stability:<\/strong> Construction products must not jeopardize the safety of construction works.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Safety in case of fire:<\/strong> Products have to minimize the emergence and propagation of fires.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Hygiene, health and the environment:<\/strong> Products must not be harmful to human health or the environment.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Protection against noise:<\/strong> Ensuring the reduction of noise in buildings.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Energy economy and heat retention: <\/strong>Products have to help reduce energy consumption.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Sustainable use of natural resources:<\/strong> Construction products have to be manufactured in an environmentally-friendly way and recyclable.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-27e53db elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"27e53db\" to be allowed to be sold in the EU.
